Chapter 60 Salute to You
Chapter 60 Salute to You
After receiving the special item from Luzer, Edward finally demonstrated the qualities expected of a Night Watch captain. He immediately organized a small team to search for the target, while he remained at headquarters, receiving updates from the front lines to formulate a plan and determine the final capture strategy.
Based on the information Ms. Daly relayed to Luze and his team, the investigation team ultimately focused on the warehouse district of Enmat Port. This area connects the slums and the harbor, is characterized by its chaotic security, diverse population, and numerous warehouses, providing ample opportunity for concealment.
However, thanks to the tools provided by Lu Ze, the area they have narrowed down is rapidly shrinking, and they estimate that they will be able to pinpoint the target location and begin their operation soon.
"Sequence 6 is leading the team, along with a series of powerful sealed artifacts. If we still can't capture them, I have nothing more to say."
Lu Ze, who had eaten several large steaks last night, looked radiant and full of energy as he commented, "Also, Ms. Dai Li, we're heading back by car at noon today."
"So eager? Aren't you going to wait until we've finished arresting them before leaving?"
"I asked, somewhat surprised."
"We can't wait any longer, we're not exactly welcome here... Besides, aren't we thinking of getting back to Tingen as soon as possible to share [that matter] with the captain?" Leonard said with a smile, winking at Ms. Daly, reminding the three of them to tell Dunn about the impersonation.
"Oh, I see. Well then, thank you for your hard work." Daly didn't try to keep me any longer. "I need to go back to the team to discuss the operation plan... Welcome to Port Enmat again next time."
Don't come again next time.
"Klein muttered. His voice was so soft that Ms. Daly, who was hurrying downstairs, didn't hear him."
After packing their luggage and suitcases, the three sat in the hotel room chatting. Leonard suggested playing a couple of rounds of poker, but Luze refused, telling him that he had already made plans to meet someone.
"Who is it? Are you a lady?"
Leonard became interested
"Um."
Lu Ze nodded.
"Is it pretty?"
"I'd say she's pretty."
Luze recalled Greira's face, "but not as pretty as Cecilia."
"Don't mention your sister at a time like this! Lu Ze, you're quite something, managing to hook up with a pretty girl without anyone noticing. Should we keep quiet about this?"
Leonard jokingly teased him.
"It's not what you think..."
Left with no other option, Lu Ze had to explain.
Upon hearing the other party's unique idea of solidifying ritual magic, Klein showed great interest. "May I participate?"
"Of course, my respected mentor in mysticism."
Lu Ze laughed.
Leonard, wanting to see what the girl looked like, also stayed at the hotel.
They prepared the materials for the ceremony. Not long after, they saw a carriage stop through the hotel window facing the street, and Greta alighted carrying a suitcase. Luze greeted her from the window before going downstairs to bring her up.
"Sorry I'm a little late."
Greta's hair was even messier than the last time I saw her. "There was some trouble in the team, some members were injured, and we've been busy until now."
The reason you're so busy is probably related to me.
Lu Ze thought to himself.
"It's alright, we still have some time before we leave by car," he said to Greta. "So let's hurry up and get started... I haven't asked yet, which aspect of the ceremony would you like to reference?"
Mentioning this, the little girl perked up. She put down her suitcase, her eyes sparkling. "I want to see the ritual magic of your Mystic Path, preferably the kind with particularly outstanding effects!"
Little girl, that's incredibly bold of you...
Lu Ze's lips twitched involuntarily, and he chuckled, "Those rituals are all very evil in effect, and the process is quite dark. I don't recommend you observe or learn from them... How about I show you some of the ritual magic related to our Goddess of the Night?"
"no."
Greta shook her head decisively, "There will be plenty of opportunities to visit those rituals later, but the chance to see a cryptid perform a spell in person is very rare."
Her statement made a lot of sense, and Lu Ze couldn't refute it for the time being.
"Alright then, I'll show you a few less dangerous rituals."
He sighed and accepted the other party's terms.
......
Creating a wall of spirituality, lighting two candles, and establishing a connection with the true creator using his own blood—Luze executed the entire process swiftly and professionally. This was the power of a Mystic who had essentially digested the potion.
As he was about to recite the name of the true Creator according to the procedure, he suddenly sensed something unusual. It was a spiritual resonance from the same sequence, as if something related to the Mystic had appeared nearby.
Could it be that the crazy guys from the Aurora Society have attacked?
"No way?"
He abruptly ended the ceremony, and amidst the surprised or puzzled gazes of the others, he got up and quickly walked to the window.

A carriage belonging to the night watchmen was speeding down the street, bearing the police badge, causing other carriages on the road to swerve to make way for it.
The carriage sped along and came to a stop in front of the fishing club. Several night watchmen jumped off the carriage and rushed into the club.
"Captain! Captain Edward!"
The leader shouted loudly, attracting the attention of everyone present. They looked at the speaker and immediately recognized him as one of the people Edward had sent out to monitor and investigate the target.
"Mark, why are you back with people?"
Edward was discussing the operation plan with his team when he saw them. His brows furrowed. "Have you found anything wrong with your investigation?"
"Captain Edward!"
Mark, who was in the lead, was panting, his face full of anxiety. "We've discovered something we must tell you!"
Not only him, but the other night watchmen were also excited, attracting everyone to gather around.
"What is it?"
Seeing this, Edward couldn't help but ask.
"That's right, that's right..."
Mark glanced around and, seeing that almost everyone had gathered, turned to Edward, revealing a maniacal and twisted smile, his belly swollen:
"I wanted to let you know... Ms. M sends her regards."
Behind him, the carriage had already rushed into the hall...
boom!
A dull, loud noise suddenly came from inside the fishing club building.
The intense tremors, the scorching air, the rising smoke... it felt like a meteorite had crashed down beside him, and Lu Ze's hotel room was shaking violently!
The glass shattered from the blast wave, and shards of glass clattered and struck various parts of the room.
"Cough cough..."
When Lu Ze opened his eyes, he felt dizzy and his ears felt like they were filled with mercury, so he couldn't hear anything.
He lay on the messy ground, covered in dust and debris, his arms and legs cut.
What happened?
Luze wondered, then felt a tap on his arm. Looking up, he saw Leonard, his forehead bleeding, frantically shouting something. Behind him, Klein was struggling to shield Greta, a piece of wood embedded in his shoulder, blood trickling down his arm...
Oh, I see.
Lu Ze finally realized what was happening.
We were attacked.
