Chapter 036 Demon Mountain Technology: Shack Construction
Chapter 036 Demon Mountain Technology: Shack Construction
The little demons were quite mischievous. Their attribute information clearly stated that their "work efficiency was completely unpredictable," but Li Hanqiang still couldn't have imagined that they would actually act on their own!
Releasing a black-spined baby turtle felt like Li Hanqiang had lost a hundred million.
The group of lesser demons were quite obedient. They rushed forward and, without saying a word, began to punch and kick the green-haired demon who was kowtowing and begging for mercy. Even though their attack power was less than one, the green-haired demon was quickly reduced to less than half health.
"Alright, stop fighting!" Li Hanqiang quickly shouted, lifting the half-health green-haired demon up and saying with a dark face, "Remember this from now on: don't release the fish you catch!"
He pointed around and said, "You all better remember this!"
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
The little demons responded, but in the blink of an eye they went off to do somersaults and pile on top of each other, and the half-blood green-haired demon became their good friend again, playing together.
Li Hanqiang couldn't help but sigh. He figured his orders were as good as nothing. The little demon was mischievous, and that was part of the system's design, something he probably couldn't change.
Fortunately, although the little demons knew to release the fish, they kept the items they caught. Li Hanqiang searched through all the fish baskets and obtained another small Chaos Bottle, as well as a blue piece of equipment called the [Shrimp Helmet], which can increase physical defense and magic resistance by 15 points each.
This shrimp helmet is a decent piece of armor, but its shape is a bit bizarre. It's a lobster head, nearly half a meter tall, with its whiskers pointing straight up. If you were to equip it, you could probably play as a shrimp soldier. Unless you're a pragmatist or a quirky player, you probably wouldn't equip it.
After putting away the shrimp helmet, Li Hanqiang was thinking of going to the Demon Mountain Cave again when he suddenly saw a green carp swimming by in the water, its tail splashing a wave.
Li Hanqiang was immediately puzzled.
The water in Bibo Pond was clear but unfathomably deep. Although it was a place for fishing, Li Hanqiang had never seen any small fish swimming in it before. How come a green carp suddenly appeared?
"Could it be...?"
Li Hanqiang suddenly had a jolt. Could the appearance of green carp in the Bibo Pond be related to the release of animals?
The group of lesser demons released all the fish they had caught into the Azure Wave Pond. Could it be that these released fish wouldn't be removed by the system, but instead would live in the Azure Wave Pond?
If that's the case, then wouldn't releasing animals be the same as free-range animal husbandry?
Li Hanqiang shook his head vigorously. The Endless Main Brain's thinking was strange, and this was not impossible.
"We'll have to test it out to find out. The Azure Pool needs hidden conditions to upgrade, and maybe releasing animals is one of those conditions," Li Hanqiang pondered to himself. "If releasing animals really is the same as free-range farming, that would be amazing. If we release a black-spined baby turtle today, will two of them appear tomorrow?"
The more Li Hanqiang thought about it, the more he felt there were endless possibilities, and he was no longer bothered by the little demon releasing fish back into the wild.
He hummed a little tune as he left the Azure Wave Pool and happily made his way to the Demon Mountain Cave.
As soon as they stepped into the entrance, a system notification came through.
"Ding! The little demons have cultivated an acre of fertile land. The maximum number of little demons in the Demon Mountain Cave has increased by 5."
"Ding! The little demons have developed a basic technology: [Shelter Construction]!"
"They've developed a new technology!"
Li Hanqiang felt particularly curious and immediately brought up the attribute panel of the Demon Mountain Cave.

Li Hanqiang was immediately drawn to the "shack construction" technology and clicked on it to take a look—
[Shelter Construction: Demon Mountain Technology, Low-level Technology. Unlocked, allows demons to build shelters within the Demon Mountain territory. Construction consumes 5 wood and requires 5 demons working together for 1-10 hours. The shelter is a residential building and can be bound to one player. The player inside the shelter is invincible and gains 1 experience point per second. Note: Only those with a Chaos City contribution level of Commoner can obtain a shelter.]
"Isn't this just an AFK spot?" Li Hanqiang crossed his arms. He didn't care about player binding or Chaos City contributions at all. He just wanted to build a shack as soon as possible to take a look.
Unfortunately, the demon mountain cave doesn't have enough timber reserves right now, and he doesn't have any little demons with him, so Li Hanqiang can only float through the air to the top of the mountain and figure it out later.
Before the stone gate of the cave at the top of the mountain, Li Hanqiang saw the green-haired demon with a wheelbarrow, who was actually pushing the wheelbarrow around.
Upon arriving at the strategically important cave dwelling, Li Hanqiang paused to ponder.
He obtained another small Chaos Bottle, so he didn't lack Chaos Energy for the time being. He decided to be generous and recruited all the little demons!
Quickly, Li Hanqiang consumed 59 points of Chaos Energy to recruit 59 lesser demons, thus forming another ten-demon team.
Robbery is definitely a must; it's the little demon's legitimate job. Although sacrifice is inevitable, there will always be a day when he gets rich. After all, no one gets rich without windfall gains.
Li Hanqiang decided to go all out. After all, he was only level six now, so what if he was reduced to level zero?
He then appointed five more demons and sent them to wait at the foot of the mountain, so that as soon as enough timber was stored, they could build a hut.
There were 49 lesser demons left, and Li Hanqiang threw them all into the Demon Mountain Workshop.
Technology is power, and Li Hanqiang values Yaoshan Technology very much.
"Let's go, let's continue raiding dungeons!"
Li Hanqiang rallied his spirits and led the Ten Demons Team in three consecutive robberies, succeeding twice and failing once.
The first two robberies resulted in "very easy" dungeons. I encountered a goblin vendor's stall again, run by the same goblin Bingjiujiu. I successfully robbed him and got two vendor carts.
The third raid resulted in an "easy" instance where they encountered a kobold caravan!
A caravan with six large treasure chests was extremely eye-catching. Although it was just a simple dungeon, the kobold caravan had more than 20 level 10 kobold guards, and Li Hanqiang didn't dare to rob it at all. As soon as he saw the caravan's lineup, he gave up and ordered his group of lesser demons to leave the dungeon.
After three robberies costing him 30 gold coins, he only got two carts, and Li Hanqiang felt he had lost out.
"What's the use of a ten-demon team if they can't even clear a simple dungeon and can only rob goblin vendors? It seems we have to improve the lesser demons' robbing abilities, otherwise this robbing is a losing proposition." Li Hanqiang thought to himself, with the idea of forming a hundred-demon team on his mind.
The Hundred Demons Team is definitely more capable of raiding than the Ten Demons Team, and might be able to clear easy dungeons.
Unfortunately, the Demon Mountain Cave can only recruit a maximum of 105 lesser demons. To form a team of 100 demons, we would have to give up activities such as fishing, land reclamation, mining, and wood gathering, which is not worthwhile.
