Chapter 624 624: Young Parker
Chapter 624 624: Young Parker
Boom!
Another explosion detonated. Amidst the panicked shrieks of the crowd, roaring fire directly melted the asphalt and stone bricks on the pavement, completely blowing open a street-corner shop.
Two unlucky Black men were blasted through the air, wailing in agony on the ground as they clutched their severed legs.
The skyscraper above also began to sway. This specific explosion had visibly compromised the building's foundational structure.
Iron Man cursed under his breath. No longer wasting time arguing with Kaito Shirogane, he quickly shot toward the corner, grabbing dazed pedestrians one by one to fly them away from the danger zone.
However, this commercial district was exceptionally busy. People were still pouring out of the building in a frantic exodus. Seeing the vibrations of the skyscraper grow increasingly severe, Iron Man flew directly underneath it. His AI butler, F.R.I.D.A.Y., instantly mapped the optimal load-bearing points. Iron Man braced his armor against the pillars, desperately straining to delay the tower's collapse.
Bam!
A massive billboard ripped free from above, crashing straight down and instantly crushing a few unfortunate souls into a pulp.
Watching this, Tony Stark felt his stomach drop. He glanced back at Kaito Shirogane, who was still casually standing in the exact same spot. After a brief freeze, Tony forced his voice to remain level through the comms:
"Mr. Mercenary Tao, no matter what you are thinking right now, please immediately assist with the rescue. Okay?!"
Kaito Shirogane stood in place, watching the high-flying corporate elites dressed in crisp business suits collapse into ugly displays of panicked confusion and frozen compliance. A deeply mocking, playful expression instinctively crept onto his face.
Creak... Groan...
With his extraordinary sense of hearing, Kaito could distinctly hear the structural steel rods inside the building twisting and snapping. With the foundation compromised, the skyscraper's structural load capacity was deteriorating at an exponential rate.
And the desperate stampede of humans inside the building was only accelerating its collapse.
Hearing Iron Man's plea, Kaito gave a careless shrug. He stepped directly into the churning crowd, weaving through the stampede as if possessing future sight, occasionally tossing individuals clear whenever they drifted into the trajectory of falling rubble.
Even though Kaito's physical body was currently severely restricted—capable of unleashing only about a quarter of his peak capability,
He still possessed a level of monstrous strength that ordinary humans could never fathom.
The unique aspect of liberating the Limiter's first threshold lay in the fact that it could not be suppressed by external constraints. Even though Kaito had used [Logic] and [Life Return] to purposefully depress his own metabolism and organ activity, the raw numerical enhancement provided by the threshold remained absolute.
Thus, Kaito's current active Strength attribute sat at a formidable [15 + 61] points. It was still overwhelmingly superior to any ordinary human or low-tier Reincarnator.
Bang!
He casually swatted a falling neon sign through the air. The massive metallic board flew over a dozen meters, smashing into several cars and folding the metal frames like paper.
Yet, a young boy wearing a miniature child-sized formal suit standing right by his feet was cleanly saved.
The boy had striking blue eyes and short blonde hair—a textbook Caucasian youth. He was clutching a Hulk action figure tightly in his small hand, likely a hardcore superhero fanboy.
The terror on his young face gradually receded. Watching the adults screaming and fleeing all around them, he gritted his teeth and stubbornly fell into step directly behind Kaito's heels.
Bang! Bang!
Kaito's motions of casually hurling grown adults a dozen meters clear looked effortlessly smooth. Amazingly, despite their terrified shrieks, the people he threw landed without sustaining any actual injuries.
Witnessing this magical display, the boy's face flushed crimson as an intense surge of excitement overtook him.
"Hey! Hey!"
"Are you a new superhero?!"
"That's amazing! Between you and the Hulk, who is stronger?!"
Clang!
With a lazy sweep of his hand, Kaito shattered a massive sheet of falling glass targeting their coordinates. The glass exploded like brilliant fireworks, sending countless glittering shards whistling skyward, clattering harmlessly against Iron Man's armored hull.
Tony Stark was growing increasingly frantic, utilizing every channel to redirect secondary assets toward the rescue effort, while desperately trying to get Wanda to suppress the two rogue spellcasters beneath the pavement.
Glancing down, F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s targeting reticle instantly locked onto the man strolling casually through the rain of debris, systematically tossing civilians clear while a small child trotted happily by his side.
Tony felt a thick vein throb violently at his temple.
"For God's sake, Mr. Mercenary Tao, get that kid out of the hot zone first, okay?!"
Kaito Shirogane raised his eyes, casting a thoroughly bizarre glance up at Tony. He found these foreigners to be deeply peculiar, possessing a strange, inherent self-importance.
Just because their cultural values dictated that children were fragile and should be prioritized, he was expected to blindly accommodate them?
Tony didn't even stop to consider why this kid was tailing him.
What if the boy was simply smart enough to realize that standing right beside an absolute predator was infinitely safer than running anywhere else?
Kaito casually read the thoughts of the boy, who barely reached a meter in height, and let out a slightly disappointed tsk.
Alright, that level of tactical calculation didn't exist.
The child's mind was currently completely hyperactive. He genuinely believed he was standing shoulder-to-shoulder with a newly manifested superhero, co-authoring a magnificent rescue mission.
Kaito reached down and cleanly hoisted the boy up by his collar. The young Parker let out a sharp gasp as his field of vision suddenly soared. The falling billboards, glass shards, and shattered concrete rained down before him like a storm.
And yet, within inches of his face, every single hazard was cleanly swatted away by a long, pristine hand. The boy felt his heart sync completely with the concussive rhythm of the impacts. Every time a heavy bang echoed through the air, his small chest thudded in perfect unison.
"So strong... so cool!"
Young Cletus Parker's face flushed a deep crimson, his tiny limbs twitching with the urge to dance in mid-air.
Kaito tilted his head, staring down at him.
"Aren't you afraid, Parker?"
The corners of Kaito's mouth curled. Since the Black Order hadn't breached the atmosphere yet, Jin had been successfully funneled toward Solomon, and the new Furnace of Life plan was still in its setup phase, his slightly bored mind suddenly found a fresh spark of amusement in this kid.
The soul of this tiny boy radiated something infinitely more entertaining than the thousands of panicked minds fleeing around them.
Cletus Parker shook his head vigorously, thoroughly confused as to why this superhero would even ask such a question.
"I'm not scared at all!"
"You're a superhero! Why would anyone be scared standing next to a superhero?!"
"We're definitely going to win!"
He believed it with a hundred percent absolute certainty. Consequently, fear simply could not manifest.
Kaito's smile grew vastly wider. Suddenly, a violent wave of intense heat radiated from beneath their boots as the asphalt began to buckle and liquefy.
Kaito took a single step, his figure smoothly blurring across dozens of meters to materialize further down the avenue.
Rumble!
A column of pure fire erupted skyward. Jin, looking heavily scorched and disheveled, burst violently out of the ground, taking flight.
Right on his heels came a massive, crescent wave of crimson sword energy. The beam tore through the atmosphere, slamming cleanly into the flank of the swaying skyscraper.
Crack!
Accompanied by the terrifying screech of parting concrete, the skyscraper let out a cataclysmic groan as its main pillars fractured.
Fortunately, in the very next instant, a dense shroud of scarlet hex energy flared to life, as a tidal wave of pure magical force forcefully clamped around the building, straining to hold the massive structure upright.
