Chapter 28 Li Wei in Danger

"Impossible!" he roared, grabbing Batman by the collar. "They should be killing each other! Human nature is inherently evil! Look!"

After yelling at Batman, the Joker turned to Levi and said, "Something must have gone wrong. I can't possibly fail!"

Batman pushed the Joker's hand away and slowly stood up.

Moonlight shone on his bat suit, outlining his resolute silhouette.

"You're wrong," his voice was deep and powerful. "You only see the darkness of humanity, but you've overlooked the light in people's hearts."

Li Wei stood on the edge of the rooftop, looking at the two cruise ships on the river, which were safe and sound, and a relieved smile appeared on his face.

"Mr. Clown, it's time to keep your promise."

Li Wei's gaze never left the clown, and a smile remained on his face.

Looking at Li Wei's smile, the clown suddenly burst into maniacal laughter.

Laughter echoed across the empty rooftop, carrying a sense of resentment after being defeated.

"Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!" He clapped his hands, his scarlet lips stretching to his ears. "You've won this round, Mr. Prophet! I admit you've succeeded this time!"

He took a small remote control out of his pocket and handed it to Li Wei.

"Here you go, Mr. Prophet, this is your spoils."

Li Wei took the remote control and, without thinking, stomped it to pieces. His violent action made the Joker's eyelids twitch.

"Hey, Mr. Prophet, I don't remember you being this violent..."

In the Joker's mind, if Levi's IQ was the same as his, his fighting ability couldn't possibly be that high.

After all, how can someone be both highly intelligent and terrifyingly tyrannical?

However, judging from Li Wei's current performance, this guy has the potential to become a violent criminal.

"Alright, clown, the farce is over, you..."

Batman, seeing the Joker had calmed down, decided to carry out the judgment of justice.

However, no sooner had he spoken than he saw the clown suddenly pull a remote control out of his pocket and press the red button on it.

"Since we didn't get to see the fireworks, let's try something different! This building is full of explosives."

The Joker's laughter grew even more maniacal. "Either you come to hell with me, or you watch Gotham's landmark turn to ashes! It's one of those, my friends!"

Batman's expression changed, and he immediately lunged at the Joker, trying to snatch the remote control.

But the clown was prepared; he rolled away to dodge the attack and ran towards the rooftop entrance.

"Goodbye, gentlemen! The performance is about to end, remember to give me some flowers!"

Li Wei was completely dumbfounded by the sudden turn of events.

Something seems off about this plot.

I don't think the plot should be like this. The Joker's final fate was just to be arrested. He doesn't remember any scene where the Joker planted explosives in the building.

Li Wei quickly estimated the time in his mind, glanced at the clown's departing figure, and made a decision.

"Batman, catch him first! I'll contact Gordon to evacuate the crowd!"

Without hesitation, Batman leaped to the edge of the rooftop and chased after them using the grappling hook.

Li Wei then took out his phone and dialed Gordon's number.

"The Previta Building may have been planted with a bomb, and an emergency evacuation is necessary!"

"I need to go with Batman to track down the Joker. It's up to you!"

Levi hung up the phone before Gordon could reply. Although the Joker might not be telling the truth, he couldn't afford to gamble.

After doing all this, Li Wei rushed straight to the door; he wanted to see what was going on.

The rooftop returned to calm, and the sound of police sirens grew closer in the distance.

Li Wei rushed down the rooftop, and after only one floor, he saw Batman and the Joker wrestling.

Looking at the clown who broke his promise, Li Wei felt a surge of anger and grabbed a steel pipe, leaning against him.

—This guy is a liar; even if I die, I'll drag him down with me!

Taking advantage of the Joker and Batman's fight, when the Joker was too busy to look behind him, Li Wei swung his steel pipe down.

Li Wei unleashed a powerful blow in anger, smashing the clown to the ground.

Batman was stunned by the sight of the tyrannical Li Wei.

In his mind, Li Wei has always been the image of a gentle and refined Asian good man.

"Pfft, Mr. Levi... Mr. Levi, you've surprised me a bit."

The clown spat out a mouthful of blood mist, with blood still dripping from the corner of his mouth.

But the look in his eyes as he gazed at Li Wei was filled with even greater excitement. "I'm even more convinced now that we're the same kind of people!"

After saying this, the Joker seemed to unleash his inner power and continued his back-and-forth fight with Batman.

The only concern is Li Wei, who is gradually losing ground.

"Quickly, tell me how to stop the bomb from exploding!"

Batman's tone was urgent; they didn't have time to waste any more time with the Joker.

"Oh...haha..." Blood trickled from the corner of the clown's mouth as he laughed maniacally. "You'll have to ask Mr. Levi. I think he'll know."

After the Joker finished speaking, he gave Batman a provocative look.

Provoked by him, Batman increased the frequency of his attacks.

Seeing an opportunity, Li Wei also planned to step forward and teach this crazy guy a lesson.

Just as Li Wei stepped forward, intending to launch a surprise attack on the Joker—just like before.

Batman kicked the Joker mid-air, but the Joker, who was initially exhausted, nimbly dodged the kick.

"Watch out, Li Wei!"

Li Wei stared blankly at the massive foot hurtling towards him—why was Batman suddenly charging at him?

Before Li Wei could react, he felt a sharp pain in his chest.

With the sound of the glass shattering, Li Wei was completely thrown into a daze.

When he came to his senses, he found himself falling rapidly.

"Batman, what have you done?!"

Seeing the sudden turn of events, the Joker angrily questioned Batman, unable to accept that Levi had died like this.

What just happened was so fast that even Batman was stunned.

Having dealt with Li Wei a few times, he knew, of course, that this guy was just an ordinary person.

"Don't waste time, evacuate the crowd immediately! Chief Gordon said there might be danger in this building!"

Chaos reigned outside the Previtt Building, with police who had just arrived and crowds frantically fleeing.

But when everyone rushed outside the building and saw the rapidly descending figure, they were all stunned.

Then, in their hearts, they added another mark to the Joker's sins.

As the focus of attention, Li Wei watched the rapidly receding scenery, but his mind raced like a revolving lantern.

Scenes from his life flashed by quickly, as if he were reliving his life all over again.

Oh, I'm just playing a game. Yes, it's just a game...

game?!

Li Wei calmed down, and things didn't seem so bad.
